Christmas Cookies

Oh! The joyful tradition of decorating Christmas cookies!

Isabella mostly ate the sprinkles and licked the frosting knives.

Benson took one bite out of every cookie he decorated. Then fearing his hands would get messy, he got a fork to eat his cookie.

Hayden took this task very seriously. And used the opportunity to show off those super-human eyelashes.

Oh Christmas Tree!

In Search of the perfect tree. Why Isabella has her fingers in her nose and Benson looks like he's growling, I'll never know. Why Hayden has wings in his hair...well, his mom gave him a really bad haircut. We came away from the tree lot with two scraped knees and the perfect tree!
Isabella throwing one of her characteristic fits. She thought she should have the honor of hanging Hayden's Spiderman ornament, he thought otherwise. She spent most of the evening in despair over the injustices dealt to her by her brothers.

Two cute boys intently hanging ornaments.

The finished product! We were short one light strand and one strand of tinsel but we think it turned out perfect! I love having a hand-picked living Christmas Tree! Hmmm.

A Christmas First...

Here are the boys sitting on Santa's lap, for the first time...ever. Every other year, the mere sight of Santa has them running for cover behind my legs and shrieking in terror. At our ward Christmas party, they all watched in awe as Santa entered the room and were lurred to the long line with the promise that he was handing out treats. As they waited their turn, Hayden repeated over and over that we would definately not be going up there, and Benson stood with big, panicky eyes that showed he was in agreement. But when the time came, they both walked up, climbed on his lap and quickly spouted off their Christmas lists (which mostly contained Christmas wishes they had never conveyed to me), grabbed their mini candy canes and came back to us with big smiles. Where's Isabella, you wonder? She's hiding behind her Daddy's legs and shrieking in terror...but not until she snagged a candy cane from Santa's bag.
